Endoscopy
Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a procedure that involves inserting a thin, lighted tube (endoscope) into the uterus to look for infections, diseases, or other disorders. Two of the most prevalent endoscopic procedures are:
- Laparoscopy
Laparoscopy entails inserting an endoscope into the abdominal cavity, usually through the umbilicus, to visualize the uterus, tubes, ovaries, and pelvis. The fallopian tubes’ patency is also checked at the same time by injecting a blue dye. Laparoscopy can also treat certain anomalies such as fibroids, Endometriosis, adhesions, and so on.
- Hysteroscopy
The examination of the uterine cavity using an endoscope passed through the cervix is known as hysteroscopy. It allows for the diagnosis of uterine cavity problems as well as the surgical correction of most similar problems (operative hysteroscopy). Common conditions that can be treated with hysteroscopy include polyps, fibroids, and septum abnormalities.
